Description
These are not acceptable as cut-resistant gloves that are part of the compulsory safety equipment worn by speed skaters at competitions. However, if you are new to speed skating and want something warmer to wear while you start out, these could be perfect for you.
What are they for? To help keep your hands warm. Falls happen, the ice is cold, and you need to use your hands to get back up. NOTE: They will not protect your hands from getting cut by blades.
Compulsory safety equipment that MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES when participating in speed skating events and training. Skaters will not be permitted on the ice without it. These items are:
- helmet
- neck guard
- gloves
- knee pads
- shin pads
- cut-proof suit for higher grades
