if you are visiting or want to book a ‘Have a go’ session with one of our coaches, so we can coordinate with our coaches and ensure everyone is able to get the most out our sessions.

In your message, please advise us of the number, names, ages, and skating experience of people you are inquiring on behalf of and we’ll respond to sort out a date. Feel free to include your phone number to discuss -we have both fluent English and Mandarin speaking members able to help!

2026 Annual Membership

We offer two forms of membership to suit different groups of people.

Local membership is for skaters who commit to who attend at least half the training sessions throughout the year or have skated with us for at least two years, as well as their parents/guardians, coaches, officials, and volunteers who consider themselves part of the Hauraki skating community. Only skaters pay the fee – all the others are free!

Non-local membership is for skaters either based overseas or in NZ who are unable to attend our ice training sessions, but require membership with a New Zealand based Ice Speed Skating Club in order to apply for funding to represent NZ in competitions.

Hire club skinsuit and skates

Our new, fully cut-proof speed skating suits available for hire for all skaters*. These are hired out annually and must be cleaned when they are returned or exchanged.

Children’s feet just keep on growing and purchasing new boots is much more expensive than shoes! For this reason, we recommend hiring skates because we have stock they can grow into. Later on, we recommend purchasing  higher quality boots (new or second-hand) as their ability and competitiveness increases.

* Quantities in sizes are currently limited, so skaters who are training and committed to compete are given priority. Please check stock with Tracy or Gill for availability before hiring.

Purchase personal safety gear

The following items must be worn during all training and competitions in accordance with ISU regulations.
